2018 Suzuki Gixxer, Gixxer SF price starts from Rs. 80,928/- and Rs. 90,037/- respectively; new colour option also introduced.
Entering the market back in 2014, the Suzuki Gixxer has successfully carved a following for itself by offering an appealing package of sportiness and practicality. Now spread into various variants flaunting a full fairing, rear disc brake, fuel injection and ABS, the range has been nothing short of a game changer for Suzuki in Asia. The Japanese automaker has launched the 2018 Suzuki Gixxer and Gixxer SF in an attempt to add some freshness to the lineup for a much-needed sales boost.
First things first, revisions to the MY2018 motorcycles come in the form of cosmetic updates while the powertrain and mechanicals continue to be the same. Apart from a newly introduced dual-tone Candy Sonoma Red and Metallic Sonic Silver paint scheme, the Gixxer range now features new body graphics with matching rim stripes. The popular Metallic Triton Blue shade of the Gixxer SF now gets an ECSTAR logo as well which is their official lubricant brand. It also reminds of Suzuki’s association with racing as their team in MotoGP goes by the name of Team SUZUKI ECSTAR.
Feature list remains unchanged with LED tail lamp, twin-port exhaust and an all-digital instrument console being some of the prominent entries. Powering the entire Gixxer range is a 155cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine that churns out 14.8 PS of power at 8000 RPM and 14 Nm of torque at 6000 RPM. Mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox, the motor is fed by a carburetor as standard while the Gixxer SF FI adds fuel-injection to the mix. The new models are already being dispatched to Suzuki dealerships across the country.
