You read it first on Annotorious. Chevrolet is the official sponsor for Manchester United for the 2014-15 season. The automaker displayed Manchester United editions of the Beat and Sail U-VA at the 2014 Auto Expo earlier this year. Now, the company is all set to officially launch these special editions in the market and they will be produced in a limited number to make these models feel exclusive. Chevrolet Asia is also holding a contest called Fast Moves for fans of Manchester United where winners get a chance to watch their favourite team play live.
The Chevrolet Fast Moves contest basically involves the showcasing of the Beat and Sail U-VA special editions at select malls across the country. These editions come with various Manchester United logos placed at different locations on the exteriors and interiors of the cars. Participants will have to register first and then they will be given a tablet that will be loaded with an application called Alive. The team logos on the cars will have small QR codes and the Alive application will help participants register the fact that they have spotted that particular logo. Contestants need to count the exact number of logos that are placed on the car.
The lucky winner of the contest will win a trip for two to watch Manchester United vs Real Madrid on 2nd August live. Other than this, Chevrolet will also give out other merchandise to contestants and there are Chevrolet-branded t-shirts up for grabs too. The official unveil of Manchester United’s jersey will take place on 7th July and Chevrolet will be launching the Beat and Sail U-VA special edition on the same day. These cars will come with a special paint job, upholstery and interiors with small customisations like red accents. The mechanicals will remain completely the same and no changes will be made here.
The first event of the Fast Moves contest has already taken place on 7th and 8th June at DLF Promenade in Delhi and Phoenix Market City in Bengaluru. The special edition cars will be displayed at various malls across the country.
Currently, Chevrolet Asia does not have any new products in the pipeline and hence they are launching these limited editions.
