Triumph’s First Dealership Coming Up In Bangalore

Triumph is finally entering Asian shores on 28th November, 2013. The British motorcycle maker revealed its initial plans for the Asian market at the 2012 Auto Expo but delayed its entry. Now Triumph is all set to launch their range of bikes in a couple of weeks, announcing its first few dealers and their Asian product lineup. The brand’s first Asian dealership has been snapped by Team-BHP at Bangalore’s residency road as the city has the highest number of bikers (after Pune). Other locations expected to see the first few dealerships are Mumbai and Delhi.

In the coming months of 2014, Triumph will be setting up dealerships in Chandigarh, Jaipur, Ahmedabad, Pune, Chennai, Hyderabad, Cochin and Goa. The iconic British brand will introduce seven motorcycles in Asia, which include – Bonneville, Street Triple, Speed Triple, Daytona 675, Tiger 800XC, Thunderbird Storm and Rocket III. It is yet to be known if the company will launch the motorcycles gradually or all together. Triumph is setting up a production plant in Narsapura, near Bangalore, which will be ready by 2015.

For the time being they have arranged an assembly unit in Manesar, Haryana, where they will be assembling motorcycles via the CKD route to avoid hefty taxes and price the lineup competitively. Their product range starts from the Bonneville currently, which is the cheapest bike of the lot, expected to be priced around Rs. 5-6 lakhs. Triumph is also developing an entry-level motorcycle that will be powered by a 250cc single-cylinder engine. The bike was spied testing recently and is intended to get Triumph volumes.
