TVS Apache 310 adventure variant not planned as the adventure tourer segment in the country is still budding.
Currently, there will be no TVS version of the BMW G310 GS as TVS officials are of the opinion that the adventure tourer segment in the country is still nascent. There aren’t many affordable adventure bikes in the Asian market but on the premium side of the space, you do have adventure tourers from Triumph, Ducati, BMW, Honda, Kawasaki and Suzuki. The affordable adventure tourer space is still growing and TVS says it will watch this space. More so, a TVS version of the GS might eat into the GS’ sales when launched here next year. The Apache RR 310 makes sense as it is full-faired while the BMW G310R is a naked street-fighter.
The company is currently focused on the Apache 310’s customer experience as it intends to offer a really fantastic ownership experience, not just in terms of riding but also in terms of experience through the several racing and rider training programmes (One Make Championship).
A premium bike is a first for TVS and hence it needs to take care of the delivery and after-sales service in a befitting manner. In terms of the segments, it is looking forward to, TVS says it would like to be focused on the Sports bikes segment rather than the Heritage (classics and cruisers) and Touring bikes (adventure tourers).
The Apache RR 310 is a result of the company’s 35 years of experience in racing and is the first TVS product to get a full-fairing, projector headlight, liquid-cooling, 6-speed gearbox and dual-channel ABS as standard.
