Yamaha is gearing up to launch the MotoGP edition of the R15 V3 in Asia this August. This will be the first MotoGP edition of the R15 to be sold in the country. The standard R15 V3 currently retails at Rs. 1.26 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi) and the MotoGP edition is expected to command a slight premium over the standard bike.

The Yamaha R15 V3 will now come in the blue colour as seen in the factory MotoGP bike along with the Movistar logo on the front and sides and an ENEOS logo at the bottom of the fairing. However, the racing numbers of Yamaha MotoGP riders like Valentino Rossi and Maverick Vinales will not be featured on the bike. The MotoGP edition is already on sale in some international markets and apart from the cosmetic changes, there are no mechanical changes as such.

The bike pictured here is the international-spec version and the Asia-spec R15 V3 MotoGP edition will remain identical to the standard bike with conventional telescopic forks at the front. The supersport comes powered by a 155cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled and fuel injected engine that pumps out 19.3 PS of power and 14.7 Nm of torque. The motor comes mated to a 6-speed gearbox with assist and slipper clutch.
